I am a genealogist who searches archives for documents about your ancestors. Based on these, I write your family chronicle.
Following my research, you’ll receive, firstly, a genealogical chart which can be turned into an elegant family tree. Secondly, all the collected archival documentation in electronic form. Thirdly, a written report detailing the complete history of your family. This will help you delve into the past, understand your family’s identity and place in history, rediscover long-forgotten knowledge, and preserve your ancestors’ memory for future generations. Based on this chronicle, I can also compile a family history book for you.
I conduct archival research across all former territories of the USSR and Russian Empire, as well as throughout Europe, North and South America. I am fluent in Russian, English, German and Italian (this is very useful when researching German and Jewish genealogies, which I am an expert on), and I read Latin along with dozen other modern languages. My background in history and law enables me to work effectively with legislation from past centuries. With over 20 years of archival research experience, I possess extensive knowledge of cartography, ethnology, ethnography, religious studies and travel – skills that help me craft the most comprehensive and vivid picture of your family’s history.

At the start of our collaboration, we'll gather your initial data and research needs. I then perform a free audit to assess the search potential and timeframe. Once we agree on the scope, we will set a price and formalize our agreement with a contract. As the research progresses, we will regularly discuss interim results and updates. Typically, findings from each stage are presented after about five months.
Important! I am a specialist, not an agency with managers and employees. I conduct research myself, write myself, think myself and am responsible for the entire process. You communicate only with me, and I carry out the work in accordance with your individual wishes, without the loss of oral agreements transmitted through intermediaries. All the information you provide and that is collected during the research (interviews, phone numbers, documents) remains completely confidential. This allows me to work with high-level individuals who wish to restore their family history without unnecessary publicity.
While I am usually based in St. Petersburg (at the heart of the Russian Empire's archives) modern technology allows me to work remotely with clients and archives worldwide. If needed, I am also ready to travel quickly to any location in Russia or abroad.
